Make It a Patriotic Pool Party With Waterworks, Light Shows & Jellyfish
The Fourth of July holiday is probably the biggest home-based barbecue day of the year. Friends, family and neighbors gather in the designated host's backyard or outdoor space for a party that often begins around noon and continues well past dark. After all, fireworks don't show up in the night sky until at least after 9 p.m. in the southwestern part of the United States, so much of that backyard revelry goes on until July 5.Next to Christmas, the 4th is also one of the biggest holidays in which consumers buy decorations. People festoon their front porches and balconies with red, white and blue buntings and dress up their porch geese in Betsy Ross and Uncle Sam costumes. Owners of swimming pools, spas or ponds have the fun option of extending their patriotic decorating from the patio to the pool with all kinds of exciting products, like floating fountains, underwater light shows, an illuminated giant jellyfish, and a giant floating swan.
Check out these pool accessories and decorations. You can use the excuse of decorating for Independence Day to buy one or more, but you'll be able to enjoy them throughout the swim season. Hey, you can't leave your inflatable Grinch in the front yard for four months and get away with it. But the jellyfish -- let it light up your pool through Halloween.
