We have wood decks stepping down to concrete on 3 sides and saltillio tiles over concrete on the lower side with a low stucco wall (adobe stlye) surrounding it just the right size too sit on.
Tim and I have a deck made out of veranda and we just love it, especially since it never needs painting and won’t ever rot. That’s worth the extra cost up front.
Patio or deck? I wish. I live in an apartment in midtown Manhattan. (Though I do have a five-square-foot balcony, which is currently occupied by a potted plant)
None for me. But I like to dream…
