Barbie, who has evolved in her 50 years as the world's best-selling fashion doll, was given a birthday bash on Monday, March 9, that can only be described as "swell," "neat-o," "groovy," "unreal," "rad," "ab-fab," "amazing" and all those other au courant adjectives the perpetual teenager has used during the past half-century.
No "Over the Hill" party theme for this diva. Her real friends, including Heidi Klum, Ginnifer Goodwin, LC, "Lo," a couple of the Kardashian sisters and interior designer Jonathan Adler, showed up at the Adler-decorated Barbie real-life Malibu Dream House to celebrate in true Barbie fashion. The commemorative soiree included a look at the doll's various styles and careers during her 50 years, along with human-sized recreations of her VW Beetle, swimming pool and patio, and ocean-view firepit.
Somehow got left off the guest list? Not to worry. Southern California photographer Rebecca Merlino captured the pretty and pink festivities at the 3,500-square-foot Dream House.
