CPSC: Patio Chair Recall Due to Fall Hazard

Tuesday April 21, 2009

If you or someone you know happened to buy a folding patio chair at a Ross Store during the past couple of months, pay attention. The U.S. Consumer product Safety Commission recently announced a voluntary recall of the patio chairs. The side supports on these chairs can potentially splinter when weight is placed on them, posing a falling hazard to consumers. Ross Stores has received one report of someone who suffered shoulder pain after her chair collapsed.

The folding wooden chairs are made of eucalyptus and approximately 730 of them were sold in Ross Stores throughout the United States in February for about $50. The chairs can be identified by attached hangtags printed with SKU 400037791757 and manufacturer style number KTOC-1638-ROS. For more information, contact Ross Stores or the CPSC.
