Wordless Wednesday: Sitting on a Pork Bench

By , About.com GuideAugust 19, 2009

Follow me on:

A giant pork chop and a giant ham offered a respite from the heat, crowds and all that deep-fried everything at California's Orange County Fair.  Imagine what a hit that giant pork chop would be at your next patio pig roast!

I LOVE whacky furniture, and porkchop benches certainly fit that category.

I thought that was a typo at first – LOL! I don’t think it would be my first choice for seating, but it’s definitely a great conversation piece.

I couldn’t have imagined what I was about to see when i read the title, thought a pork bench might be like a rack of lamb or something LOL

Yes, these porky patio benches were actually quite comfortable — lightweight and foamlike. I’ve also seen some cool outdoor furniture (in photos) made from cut-up pool noodles.

I can’t imagine this at home but it certainly fits in at meat stand at a county fair – it would certainly draw some attention to the stall!

The pork benches would be great in front of a bbq stand, but these hefty cuts of hog were part of the “Think Pig!” exhibit at the fair. You know, under the same tent that had the pig relay races and a display of some awesomely artistic painted fiberglass pigs, which I’ll post in the Pool and Patio forum under “Outdoor Art.”
