Among other incidents created by Easter Sunday's earthquake in Mexico, the water was splashed from thousands of swimming pools in Southern California and the Southwest: prime pool country. The earthquake measured 7.2 on the Richter Scale and was centered in Mexicali, Mexico. The temblor was felt for more than 200 miles in each direction from the epicenter.
I was outdoors sitting on a wall watching my daughter and nephew play ping-pong when we felt the swaying, which almost felt like we were on a boat. We looked down the hill at the backyard pools of neighboring houses. Ripples and splashing confirmed that we had, indeed, just experienced an earthquake.
The damages - even near the epicenter - could have been much worse. Instead of scenes of devastation, I'd like to share a video of a dog from Huntington Beach, California, completely baffled by the sloshing water in his family's pool. Enjoy, and be thankful the damage wasn't any greater.
