Since New Year's Eve is a time of reflection for those of us who aren't romping with the elite in St. Bart's or watching The Ball drop in Times Square, I'm taking a look back at the past month. I'm a bit disappointed that holiday decorating is behind me, since I was able to take a fun tour of yards and porches decorated with those fabulous vintage outdoor blow mold Christmas decorations. No more scrambling to buy Christmas presents, either. Although, this list of home and garden gift ideas works for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day -- any occasion.
I'm looking forward to 2012. Maybe I have to say that, but I like the sense of renewal and optimism. If you don't want to take a stab at personal resolutions just yet, step out in your yard and tackle one of the suggestions on my Home and Garden New Year's Resolutions list.
