The most unsexy aspect of pool or spa ownership has to be repair. Not cleaning -- I'm talking about nuts-and-bolts, get-grubby pool repair, identifying just what went wrong with the pool pump, motor, diffuser or impeller. Not very compelling, but a necessity if you want to actually lounge by or swim in a crystal-clear body of water.
Do you really know what the pool pump and motor do? What about a centrifugal pump, which uses our science fair experiment favorite -- centrifugal force. Maybe it's time to get to know your pool's parts a bit more intimately.
