Appropriately, our house has lots of outdoor spaces -- rooms sounds better. In these, um, rooms are assorted patio and garden chairs from different eras, styles, sizes and in varying degrees of wear and tear. Some look better than others, of course.
I wouldn't mind trading two, three, make that six or seven chairs and benches for some of the new outdoor seating options available this season. Many are inspired by some of the vintage chairs I have in my own yard, others are more traditional, and a few are something completely different. Color is significant in outdoor furniture this year, as is FSC-certified materials like eucalyptus, which must be less expensive than shorea or ipe. Take a look at the chairs, benches and lounges from retailers like CB2, Frontgate and Pier 1 Imports and let me know what you like. If you know of something that should be on the list (preferably new for this year), let me know on the Pool and Patio Facebook page.
