Types of Pools: Olympic, Infinity and Salt Water

Follow me on:

Do you have a friend or co-worker who has invited you over for a swim in his or her Olympic-size swimming pool? If so, don't get excited about re-enacting any of Michael Phelps' winning strokes. Why? Authentic, regulation Olympic swimming pools are really large.

If you get an invite to swim in the CEO's infinity pool, you may want to find out ahead of time what exactly it is, so you don't ask a stupid question, like, "Can I fall off the edge?"

Then there's the salt water pool. Yes, it uses salt, but there's much more involved. It gets complicated. So, I explain it for you.

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend. Go swimming. I will be -- in a salt water pool; not an Olympic-size or infinity-edge.
