Sorry to ruin your plans for whipping that deck back into shape this weekend. You were looking forward to power washing it, tightening loose screws, sanding it, then applying wood cleaner and brightener. But the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Cabot have announced a voluntary recall of Cabot's Problem-Solver pump-spray wood cleaner and wood brightener. Both products are for exterior use on wood decks.
A potential for a chemical leak hazard has prompted Cabot, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), to issue a voluntary recall of the Ready to Use Problem-Solver Wood Cleaner 80007 (UPC-080351 81050 3) and Ready to Use Problem-Solver Wood Brightener 8008 (UPC-080351 81049 7). The hazard has to do with the pump spray mechanism, which can leak if tipped. While no incidents have been reported, consumers are advised to return the products with the spray pumps to the stores from which they were purchased for a refund. Contact the CPSC for more information.
