Here's evidence that Halloween decorations and props can be made from ordinary household items. Recognize the ironing board as the skeleton or frame for the mummy?

Designer Dave Gugel props up his mummy, and the bottom padding has taken form wit foam and duct tape. The mummy will eventually await visitors of the haunted house at the end of a dark, narrow hallway. With the right lighting -- at which Gugel is a master -- Halloween monsters and creatures can be made to look more spooky. Gugel's haunted houses are for families, so he usually tries to make them more fantasy-like and with elements of surprise rather than outright horror.
