A couple of years later, when Dick and Liz married, he bought the house across the street, and the two casas were connected by a pink second-story bridge that arches over the street. When Richard misbehaved, Elizabeth reportedly sent him to stay in his casa - the "doghouse" - until he made amends. Burton's casa was not as charming as Elizabeth's, but it did have an in-ground swimming pool.
Speaking of Night of the Iguana, when I visited Casa Kimberly a few years ago, I was startled to see a hefty iguana crawl atop the back wall of this courtyard - like a neighborhood cat - only bigger and not quite as cuddly looking. Iguanas casually hang out in trees in this region of the world, just like pigeons flock to city parks and fast-food restaurants.
