Definition: Landscaping used to screen an area for privacy, to block an objectionable view, or to serve as a natural boundary or border is considered a screen planting. Selections might include dense, fast-growing, evergreen shrubs; trees; vines; large succulents and tall ornamental grasses

Vines are among the fastest and easiest spreading plants -- good for covering up an unsightly gate or fence, or blocking a less-than-pleasant view. The always-popular rose is a hardy climber; check out our list of the top 10 climbing roses.

Also Known As: vines, privacy shrubs, living screens, privacy scrand eens
Examples:
To gain more privacy and block the view of our neighbor's hot tub, we decided to grow some vines near our side fence. Among the screen plantings we chose were trumpet and grape vines, because they are fast growers and will quickly screen-out the view when our neighbors decide to go for a midnight soak.
