Halloween Outdoor Decorations: Haunted Estates Yard SignPhoto by Lisa Hallett Taylor

The Bottom Line

This yard sign is a novel variation of the ominous tombstones that pop up on everyone's lawns this time of year. As long as you use it with discretion: don't stick it in the yard of or next to a house that's in foreclosure right now -- you don't want to make light of others' misfortunes.

That said, you can have fun with the Haunted Estates sign. Instead of placing it on a well-manicured lawn, stick it among some ornamental grasses (as pictured) or something a bit "wild" looking for a slightly more unruly effect.

Pros

  • Humorous change from typical yard gravestones
  • Not gory-frightening; won't scare children
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Lightweight plastic could be flimsy; position it where it won't be kicked or stepped on

Description

  • Plastic sign for yard
  • Measures 18"w x 36"h x l"d
  • Lightweight

Guide Review - Halloween Outdoor Decorations: Haunted Estates Yard Sign

Out-clever your neighbors and their predictable R.I.P. gravestones with this Haunted Estates real estate yard sign. The "Open House" reference at the bottom is a fun way to kick off your yard decor -- place it near the sidewalk or edge of your property where it can easily be viewed by motorists and passers-by. Use inground or on-ground uplighting for optimal effect -- the foliage surrounding it will glow.

As in the abovementioned Bottom Line, the sign is lightweight. To avoid any disasters, place it in front of a large rock, shrub, tree, or in some ornamental grasses -- basically, where people won't be trampling. That way, you'll be able plunk down your Haunted Estates Open House sign every Halloween.
