This austere maiden statue gets a different look this year with Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides) an epiphyte, or "air plant." Notice the chilly palette used here -- off white, and ghostly grays. It's a recurring theme throughout the 2009 Halloween display at Roger's Gardens.
Halloween is a holiday that's celebrated in front yards, on porches, patios, and wherever else spirited decorations will be seen by trick-or-treaters, neighbors and passers-by. It is second only to Christmas in the numbers of dollars consumers spend on holiday decorations.
