Upon first glance, this lightweight ball might not look any diffferent than a vinyl hackey sack ball. The RipperBall's "secrets" are its  slow-acting, collapsing beanbag design, balanced density and water-absorbing materials, which maximize density and performance on water. My daughter and I tested it out in the pool, and sure 'nuf, it skipped and skimmed across the water without sinking, making a big splash or thud. While my pool is not big enough to test out the WaterRipper's claim that it can cross 100 feet of water while staying in the pool, it worked just great. Another plus: it has to be the pool toy that takes the least amount of storage space, since it's about 3" x 3". Perfect!
