Guests usually don't choose the San Alfonso just as a place to "crash' for the night. It's an all-inclusive destination resort, with an emphasis on water-related activities for adults and children alike.
That giant swimming pool is lake-sized, and activities include:
- Sailing
- Kayaking
- Scuba diving
- Swimming
- Ocean navigation
- Paragliding
The recently added South Bay development includes the SubAqua Café, which is known for its inner aquarium -- the largest in Chile. The aquarium contains more that 60 species of Chilean fish and sea creatures, and can be viewed in full magnitude through a 25-meters-long glass surface. A giant 100-meters-long water chute is also located in this area, along with a heated pool, Jacuzzi with an ocean view, pub, large outdoor terrace and a gym with high-tech equipment.
