If you are looking for an above-ground pool cleaner that picks up sand, silt, debris from the bottom of the pool without a large pump requirement, DO NOT purchase this vacuum. Intex made this pool vacuum to clean soft-walled above=ground swimming pools. Although it was designed to clean small pools less than 18-feet around, it does require a much more powerful pump than normally comes with standard 12-18-foot pools.
It requires a filter pump with a flow rate between 2,000-5,000 gph. It connects to the inlet hose so no extra stress is put on your filter system. This vacuum will not clean silt, sand or any small particle of dirt from the floor of the pool. It will pick up leaves and large debris. Moves around the pool nicely. Must not have wrinkles in the bottom of the pool liner. Does do a great job of circulating the water from the bottom up, which helps the existing filter system.
